The Olwhyde Natural Calendar
What if our calendar were no longer a convention, but a faithful reflection of the sky?
Breaking Away from Artificial Time
For centuries, we have lived by a practical civil calendar, but one that is disconnected from the rhythms that surround us. January 1st, 7-day weeks, and months of 30 or 31 days are human conventions, not cosmic realities.
The Olwhyde Natural Calendar is an invitation to return to the source: a dating system based solely on what nature inscribes in the sky, day after day. This is not an adaptation, but a complete reset of our perception of time.
The Pillars of the Olwhyde Calendar
- A Reset Time Reference: The Olwhyde calendar does not follow the Gregorian year. It is based on its own reference point, independent of civil conventions. For the Beta phase, we have chosen to start the count from the year 2022, defined as Year 1, in reference to the public emergence of artificial intelligence, a marker of a new era in human history.
- An Astronomical New Year: Our year does not begin arbitrarily, but at the precise moment the Sun enters the sign of Aquarius. This is no coincidence. It is the true starting point of the planetary cycle, a forgotten but fundamental axis that structures the zodiac from Saturn to Saturn.
- Authentic Solar Months: Forget "July" or "August." The Olwhyde months correspond to the Sun's actual transit through each zodiac sign. Their duration is variable, fluctuating, and alive, because nature does not obey fixed boxes.
- Weeks Paced by the Moon: The 7-day week has no natural basis. We replace it with lunar segments that follow the four major phases (New Moon, First Quarter, Full Moon, Last Quarter). Each segment lasts from 6 to 9 days, resonating with the tides, emotions, and inner flows.
- Geolocated and Personalized Time: The calendar is adapted to your time zone. The times of events (start of the year, months) are not those of a distant, global time, but the time as you experience it, here and now.
A Vision in Full Evolution
The current version is just the beginning. Olwhyde's ambition is to give you complete control over your time. In future versions, you will be able to choose the astronomical event that defines the start of your year (on an equinox or solstice), name the days and months, and even create your own color palettes.
The Secret of 0° Aquarius
Our choice of 0° Aquarius as a starting point is based on a discovery that links Western and Chinese astrology. We are preparing a dedicated page to share this fascinating story with you.
